About the Abacos…

Elbow Cay is approximately 5 miles long. This cay was originally populated by British loyalists fleeing America in 1785. Elbow Cay took a direct hit from Category 5 Hurricane Dorian on September 1, 2019. The island and the settlement of Hope Town has recovered beautifully!

The iconic candy striped lighthouse stands 89 feet tall. Built in 1862, the Elbow Reef Lighthouse is one of the last operational kerosene-fueled lighthouses in the world.
